Tuesdays of Texture: Pope’s Palace

The Palace of the Popes in Avignon, France now has endless, connected, largely empty rooms.  But here and there, vestiges remain of its former glory as a fortress and papal residence, the seat of Western Christianity during the 14th century. I was taken with this beautiful icon (origin and subject unknown to me, as I don’t read Latin). For Tuesdays of Texture, hosted by Narami on De Monte Y Mar.
